Qualifications

• Masters degree in a related field; PhD is a plus.
• 12+ years in renewable energy project development and leadership.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale renewable energy projects.

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking energy firm at the forefront of sustainable solutions, is looking for an exceptional Head of Renewable Energy Projects. This is a fully remote leadership position, offering the opportunity to shape and drive our client's renewable energy portfolio from anywhere in the world. You will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and potentially emerging technologies. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the renewable energy market, project finance, and stakeholder management. As the Head of Renewable Energy Projects, you will play a crucial part in advancing the global transition to cleaner energy sources, working remotely with a distributed team of experts.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement the strategic vision and roadmap for the company's renewable energy projects. Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and site selection to construction, commissioning, and operation. Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring successful and profitable project delivery. Identify and secure funding opportunities, including partnerships, investments, and grants. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, suppliers, and investors. Lead, mentor, and inspire a global, remote-based project team. Conduct market analysis and stay abreast of emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and market trends in the renewable energy sector. Manage risks associated with project development and execution, implementing mitigation strategies. Ensure all projects comply with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.

Requirements

Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus. Extensive experience (12+ years) in renewable energy project development, management, and leadership. Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering multiple large-scale renewable energy projects. In-depth knowledge of project finance, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and renewable energy policy frameworks. Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities. Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, effective in a remote setting. Experience managing geographically dispersed teams and working effectively in a fully remote environment. Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset. Demonstrated passion for sustainability and the clean energy transition.
