Recruitpartners is seeking a Head of Operations in Cape Town to take overall responsibility for day-to-day operations, leading teams and improving performance. This hands-on leader will drive productivity, profitability, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction across the operation.

You will manage the sales, warehouse and finance functions and report to senior leadership on opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

• Matric essential.
• A suitable tertiary qualification, ideally BCom, Business Management or similar.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership role, with extensive management experience.
• Experience within a complex operational, logistics or warehouse environment would be advantageous.
• Sound accounting knowledge, with the ability to understand financial information and conduct financial reviews.
• A responsible, hands-on leader who is genuinely comfortable being involved in the day-to-day operation.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, coupled with excellent business acumen.
• Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in a pressurised, deadline-driven environment.
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent planning, organisational and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
• Must be based in Cape Town.

If you are the kind of person who sees an operation that could run better and immediately starts thinking, “Right, let us sort this out…”, this could be the role for you. Our client is looking for an experienced Head of Operations to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation, leading teams, improving performance and keeping the wheels turning - preferably without too many fires to put out along the way! This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can think strategically but is not afraid to get involved in the detail. You will play a key role in driving productivity, profitability, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction across the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership for the operation, setting priorities, providing direction and driving operational performance.
• Take accountability for the management and performance of the sales, warehouse and finance functions, supporting overall profitability targets.
• Report to senior leadership on operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with the Senior Management team to achieve key objectives, including financial performance, productivity, margin improvement and customer satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement through employee involvement, improved processes, better ways of working and the adoption of best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international legislation and requirements.
• Implement organisational policies and directives and ensure adherence across the operation.
• Promote a safe and healthy working environment where employees are engaged, accountable and committed to delivering results.
