Job summary

Recruitpartners is seeking a Head of Operations in Cape Town to take overall responsibility for day-to-day operations, leading teams and improving performance. This hands-on leader will drive productivity, profitability, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction across the operation.

You will manage the sales, warehouse and finance functions and report to senior leadership on opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

• Matric essential.
• A suitable tertiary qualification, ideally BCom, Business Management or similar.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership role, with extensive management experience.
• Experience within a complex operational, logistics or warehouse environment would be advantageous.
• Sound accounting knowledge, with the ability to understand financial information and conduct financial reviews.
• A responsible, hands-on leader who is genuinely comfortable being involved in the day-to-day operation.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, coupled with excellent business acumen.
• Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in a pressurised, deadline-driven environment.
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent planning, organisational and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
• Must be based in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for the operation, setting priorities and driving performance.
• Manage sales, warehouse and finance functions to support profitability targets.
• Report to senior leadership on operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with Senior Management to achieve objectives including financial performance and customer satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement through better processes and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with local and international legislation and requirements.
• Implement policies and enforce adherence across the operation.
• Promote a safe and healthy working environment with engaged employees.
