Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Information Security Lead in Sandton, Gauteng. This hybrid role combines strategic leadership with hands-on risk management to enhance the organization’s security posture.

You will guide the information security team, shape security policies and roadmaps, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations while collaborating with IT and business units to embed security into all programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in information security with 2+ years in leadership.
• Proven security strategy, risk management and incident response experience.
• Strong knowledge of network/endpoint/cloud security and data protection.
• Familiar with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2.
• CISSP, CISM or CISA certifications.
• Experience in a hybrid team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the information security team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Oversee development and execution of information security strategies and roadmaps.
• Manage the implementation and maintenance of security controls, policies, and procedures.
• Direct incident response activities and ensure timely and effective resolution of security breaches.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with IT leadership and business units to integrate security into all aspects of the organization.
• Stay ahead of emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Manage relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers.
