Job summary

AGC Mining Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking a Head of Financial Reporting and Shared Services for a mining group in Sandton. The role leads monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting, oversees external auditors, and manages board reporting within a regulatory framework.

The ideal candidate is a CA(SA) with 5–10 years in finance management, strong IFRS knowledge, SAP and CaseWare experience, and a proven ability to lead and develop a finance team in a mining environment.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) with 5–10 years post articles in finance management.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and mining industry exposure.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and ability to model financial scenarios.
• Proven ability to lead, train and develop finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all monthly, quarterly and year end deadlines are met.
• Managing the external auditors.
• Quarterly board reporting.
• Managing decommissioning and restoration accounting per DMRE regulations.
• Financial modelling for impairment and corporate finance purposes.
• Business plan forecasts.
• Technical training of the finance department.

Our client, an international mining company, has an opportunity for a Head of Financial Reporting and Shared Services to join their esteemed team in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring all monthly, quarterly and year end deadlines are met.
• Managing the external auditors.
• Quarterly board reporting.
• Managing the decommissioning and restoration accounting and ensuring compliance with DMRE regulations around the same.
• Financial modelling for Impairment and corporate finance purposes.
• Business plan forecasts.
• Responsible for technical training of the finance department.
• Oversee the Shared Services, AP team, to ensure they support the business and good relationships with business partners are maintained.

Experience and Qualification Requirements:

• CA (South Africa).
• 5 - 10 years post article experience in a finance management role.
• Experienced in preparing financial statements.
• SAP experience.
• Caseware experience.
• Mining industry experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge.
• Problem solver, communicator & relationship builder.
