Placements24 seeks a strategic Head of Environmental Services to lead cleaning, sanitation, and waste management across Pretoria facilities. This senior role requires extensive healthcare environmental services leadership and a passion for patient safety.

Responsibilities include steering infection control initiatives, managing large budgets and teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with clinical leadership to integrate services across the Gauteng region.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in environmental services management, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role within a hospital setting.
• Proven track record of managing large budgets and diverse teams in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for environmental services, focusing on infection prevention, waste management, and facility cleanliness.
• Oversee daily operations, including cleaning, sanitation, pest control, and hazardous waste disposal.
• Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and procurement of supplies and equipment.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of environmental services staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Ensure strict adherence to healthcare regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., NABH), and infection control policies.
• Implement and monitor KPIs to measure service quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, hospital administration, and other department heads to integrate environmental services seamlessly.
• Oversee training and professional development of all environmental services personnel.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in healthcare environmental services and waste management.
