Placements24 is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our cutting-edge development efforts in renewable energy. This on-site role based in Rustenburg requires a seasoned leader with a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background and a track record of managing diverse teams and complex projects.

You will guide product development, design, testing and deployment, while shaping the engineering roadmap and ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years progressive engineering experience including 5+ years in senior leadership.
• Experience in renewable energy sector is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead large engineering teams and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the engineering department including product development, design, testing and deployment.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.


• 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior engineering management or leadership role.


• Demonstrated experience in the renewable energy sector is highly desirable.


• Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate large engineering teams.


• Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, from concept to production.


• Expertise in project management methodologies and tools.


• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.


• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.


• Experience with relevant engineering software (CAD, simulation tools, etc.).
