Job summary

Nile.ag in Pretoria seeks a Commercial Lead to eventually own the day-to-day running of the Inputs commercial team. You will manage the Relationship Manager team, drive business development, and own key supplier relationships, with a clear path to growth.

This broad, generalist role starts with people leadership and expands into revenue growth, margin optimization, and strategic partnerships across the agri-value chain.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of people-management experience.
• Direct experience in a commercial, trading or sales environment.
• Familiar with agriculture, agri-inputs or related trading sectors is a plus.
• Proven leadership with earned respect from a team.
• Strong commercial instinct balancing people management and deals.

Responsibilities

• Take over day-to-day management of the Relationship Manager team, with 1:1 coaching and performance follow-through.
• Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities in priority areas; represent the Inputs team externally.
• Build and manage key supplier relationships and terms, coordinating with finance on pricing or credit terms.
• Keep the team's sales and margin activity on track and handle operational detail.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams and external partners to move deals forward.
• Grow into broader ownership of the Inputs commercial function over time.
