Placements24 seeks a Head Chef for our client's premier event venue in Nelspruit to lead the banqueting and events culinary team. You will design menus, manage the kitchen, ensure top quality and safety standards, and train staff to deliver exquisite dining experiences across conferences and luxury weddings.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of progressive culinary experience, formal culinary training, and strong leadership with expertise in high-volume production and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all culinary operations for banqueting and event catering
• Develop innovative and appealing menus for diverse client needs
• Mentor kitchen brigade and foster excellence and teamwork
• Control food costs, manage inventory and supplier relationships
• Ensure health, safety and sanitation regulations are met
• Collaborate with event planning to deliver bespoke culinary solutions
• Conduct quality checks and taste panels for menu items
• Manage kitchen staff scheduling, training and evaluations
