Job summary

Bridgestone Southern Africa is seeking a full-time driver to support Otraco Southern Africa in mine-related tyre mobility services. You will collect and transport goods, liaise with clients, perform after-hours breakdowns, and ensure vehicle readiness and safety across operations in Katthu, ZA.

The role requires Grade 12 and at least two years of HDV driving experience, with strong communication and basic maintenance skills. Training and safety protocols are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 NC + two years HDV driving experience required.
• Clear communication and reliable record-keeping are essential.
• Basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance knowledge expected.

Responsibilities

• Collect and transport goods to correct destinations.
• Liaise with clients and maintain in-transit records.
• Perform after-hours breakdown service when needed.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain clean appearance.
• Ensure servicing at correct intervals and adherence to road rules.
• Follow health and safety protocols and company policies.
• Attend in-house training sessions.

Job Purpose

The driver will assist with the collection and transportation of goods, attend to breakdowns (even after hours) and maintain good customer relations by providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Collection and transportation of goods.
• Client liaison and accurate record keeping of all goods in transit.
• Perform breakdown service after hours.
• Daily vehicle inspection and always ensure clean vehicle appearance.
• Ensure vehicle is serviced at correct intervals.
• Adhere to traffic regulations.
• Adherence to company policy and procedures.

• Attend all in house training.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.

Experience (years):

• Two years HDV Driving experience.

Skills:

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor repairs.
