Placements24 is seeking a certified Hazardous Materials Transport Driver to operate within the Durban area and surrounding KwaZulu-Natal regions. The role prioritizes safety, regulatory compliance, and meticulous handling of dangerous goods during transport.

Responsibilities include conducting pre-trip inspections, ensuring proper placards and documentation, and timely reporting of any incidents. A Code 10+ license and Hazmat certification are required, with ongoing training and safety protocols

• Transport hazardous materials safely according to all regulations.

• Respond to spills, leaks or emergencies per protocol.
• Maintain logs of routes, fuel usage and incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport hazardous materials safely and securely according to all national and international regulations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and specialized equipment used for hazardous cargo.
• Ensure all placards, documentation, and safety equipment are in place and compliant for hazardous goods transport.
• Respond effectively and according to protocol in case of any spills, leaks, or emergencies during transit.
• Maintain accurate logs of routes, distances, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
• Complete all required training and certifications related to the transport of dangerous goods.

Requirements

• Valid professional driver's license (Code 10 or higher) with an excellent driving record.
• Current and valid certification for the transport of Hazardous Materials (Hazmat).
• Demonstrated experience in driving and handling hazardous materials safely.
• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and regulations pertaining to dangerous goods transport.
• Ability to work independently and make critical safety decisions under pressure.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and regular medical assessments.
