Our client, a leading logistics provider specializing in the safe transport of hazardous materials, is looking for a highly skilled and certified Specialized Goods Transporter to join their team in Vereeniging, Gauteng. Key Responsibilities

• Operate specialized vehicles designed for the transport of hazardous materials, adhering strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Plan and execute transportation routes for hazardous goods, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and avoiding sensitive areas.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment before, during, and after each trip, paying close attention to safety features and containment systems.
• Ensure proper loading, securing, and placarding of hazardous materials according to regulatory requirements.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all shipments, including manifests, transport documents, and emergency contact information.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or incidents involving hazardous materials, following established emergency response procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients at pickup and delivery points, ensuring all protocols are followed.
• Undergo regular training and certification updates relevant to hazardous materials transportation.
• Collaborate with safety officers and management to continuously improve safety practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized personal workspace and company vehicle.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license, Code 14 (EC) with a valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit) is essential.
• Specific certification for the transport of dangerous goods (e.g., Hazmat endorsement or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in driving heavy commercial vehicles, with at least 3 years specifically transporting hazardous materials.
• In-depth knowledge of regulations governing the transport of hazardous substances in South Africa.
• Proven ability to operate specialized transport equipment safely and competently.
• Excellent driving record with no major safety violations.
