Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Chemical Engineer to provide essential operations support at their Randburg facility. This hands-on role focuses on ensuring smooth day-to-day processes, troubleshooting issues, and implementing minor improvements with plant operators and maintenance teams.

The successful candidate will monitor KPIs, assist in process changes, perform safety checks, and update operating manuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of chemical plant operations or process support experience.
• Understanding of unit operations and process equipment.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate technical support to production for operational issues and process upsets.
• Monitor KPIs and identify deviations requiring attention.
• Assist in implementing process changes and small-scale improvements.
• Conduct routine safety checks and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Update process documentation including operating manuals and log sheets.
• Participate in shift handovers and promote a strong safety culture on the plant floor.
