Placements24 seeks an experienced Agro-Processing Plant Supervisor for on-site operations in East London, Eastern Cape. You will oversee processing lines, staff, and quality control, ensuring safety compliance and efficient production.

The role requires 5+ years in supervision within food/agro-processing, with HACCP/ISO 22000 knowledge and strong leadership. Flexible hours and weekend work may be needed to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory/management experience in food or agro-processing.
• Proven experience supervising production lines and workforce management.
• Strong knowledge of food processing, quality control, and safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
• Proficiency with production management software and general computer tools.
• Commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
• Willingness to work on-site in East London with flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations on the processing floor.
• Oversee production staff, assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training.
• Ensure production targets are met with high quality standards.
• Monitor and control processes to ensure consistency and minimize waste.
• Enforce health, safety, and hygiene protocols within the plant.
• Inspect machinery, coordinate maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and finished products.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards.
• Prepare production reports documenting output, downtime, and QA measures.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Logistics for smooth operations.
