Placements24 is recruiting for a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to oversee packaging lines in East London, Eastern Cape. You will lead production teams, enforce GMP/HACCP, and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant packaging operations to meet targets and quality standards.

Daily responsibilities include planning, monitoring performance, training staff, managing shifts, and collaborating with maintenance and quality teams to drive continuous improvement in a dynamic FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Matriculation certificate or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in FMCG packaging is preferred.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and basic quality control principles.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to work shifts and adapt to operational needs.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily packaging production activities to meet output and quality targets.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of packaging machinery, following guidelines.
• Monitor production flow, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
• Train and mentor staff on procedures, quality standards, and safety practices.
• Maintain accurate production records: output, waste, downtime, and metrics.
• Ensure adherence to GMP and hygiene standards on the floor.
• Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to address issues promptly.
• Manage shifts, attendance, and team motivation for productivity.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve packaging processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in East London facility.
