Job summary

The Capital Hotels, Apartments & Resorts is seeking a Reservationist to respond to guest, travel agent, and referral inquiries via mail, phone, fax, or central system. You will create and maintain reservation records by date of arrival and alphabetically, and send confirmations while promptly processing cancellations and modifications.

The ideal candidate holds a Hospitality Diploma or equivalent, has 2–3 years of reservation experience, and is proficient with HMS systems (Protel advantageous).

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent is required.
• Hospitality diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 2–3 years' reservationist experience is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience using an HMS system (Protel advantageous).
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork and discretion.
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Respond to communications from guests, travel agents and referral networks concerning reservations via mail, telephone, fax or central system.
• Create and maintain reservation records by date of arrival and alphabetical listing.
• Prepare and send letters of confirmation and promptly process cancellations and modifications.
