Job summary

Cape Joy is a guest house in Cape Town seeking a hands-on Operations role to run daily tasks, cook breakfast, maintain the garden and pool, and host events. You will build partnerships with neighbouring guest houses and tour operators while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

No experience? We will train you. You must love people, take ownership and be willing to work on weekends as part of a small, energetic team.

Qualifications

• Hospitality/tourism degree preferred but not essential.
• 1–2 years events/hospitality experience
• Willing to work weekends (non-negotiable)
• A responsible, trustworthy, “no task too small” attitude
• Outgoing personality – comfortable talking to neighbours and agents
• Bonus: basic cooking, gardening, or handyman skills (we will train the rest)

Responsibilities

• Delight guests – check-ins, breakfast cooking, special requests
• Keep things running – light plumbing, lighting, pool & fish pond care
• Host events – parties, small weddings, corporate stays
• Build relationships – visit neighbouring guest houses, set up client referrals
• Grow our business – invite travel agents & tour companies for site visits, secure bookings
