The role drives OEM programmes, franchise support, training and new product launches, while ensuring plant, machinery and infrastructure remain safe and compliant across sites.
Our client is looking for an experienced Group Technical Manager to lead the Group's technical capability, application standards, equipment, safety compliance and technical development.
Lead and develop the Technical Department and technical capabilities across the Group.
Manage franchise technical support, including audits, training, competency assessments and ongoing technical standards.
Take technical ownership of OEM applications, ensuring quality, process compliance and technical standards across OEM programmes.
Oversee the lifecycle, maintenance, refurbishment and commissioning of franchise application equipment.
Lead the technical implementation and training of new product launches across the franchise network.
Partner with Production to ensure factory plant, machinery and infrastructure are maintained, safe and operational.
Lead factory SHE/HSE compliance, including risk assessments, chemical handling, incident management and training.
Maintain the technical elements of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
Develop technical capability in industrial, mining and protective-coating applications, including site assessments, trials and technical recommendations.
Work closely with R&D and Product Development on testing, product validation and application procedures.
Build technical credibility with OEMs, mines, engineers, contractors and industrial customers.
Strong technical, engineering, coatings or related industrial background.
Proven experience managing and developing technical teams.
Strong hands-on problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
Excellent training, coaching, organisational and project-management abilities.
Commercially minded with the ability to support business growth through technical expertise.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Willingness to travel regularly to franchises, OEM facilities, mines and industrial sites.
Protective coatings / corrosion-control experience.
Mining, petrochemical, engineering, manufacturing or heavy-industrial experience.
Polyurethane, polyurea, elastomeric coatings or plural-component spray-equipment experience.
AMPP/NACE Coatings Inspector qualification.
ISO 9001 and SHE/HSE management experience.
OEM or automotive manufacturing experience.
