Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is recruiting a Group Schemes Specialist to lead the Group Scheme team, promote and sell The Group Funeral Insurance products, and ensure regulatory compliance and strong stakeholder relationships in Pretoria.

You will manage pricing, tenders, service levels, and contract reviews while coordinating with actuarial and other internal stakeholders to optimize growth and profitability for the funeral insurance line.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Sales and/or FAIS credits.
• 5+ years’ knowledge and management experience in the Group Scheme/Employee Benefits market.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• In-depth knowledge of group insurance products, regulations and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical, financial, communication, negotiation and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and insurance administration platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Group Scheme team to achieve business and performance objectives.
• Drive sales, production, client acquisition and retention initiatives to meet growth targets.
• Develop and implement strategies for the Group Funeral business.
• Ensure compliance with FSCA, data protection, and AML requirements.
• Oversee profitability, membership, claims ratios, premium payments, and operations.

Description

We are looking for a Group Schemes Specialistto join our Alternative Distribution team. In this role, you will beresponsible for the management of the Group Scheme team, driving the promotionand sales of The Group Funeral Insurance products while ensuring regulatorycompliance, operational efficiency, business growth and strong stakeholderrelationships.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Leading and managing the Group Scheme teamto achieve business and performance objectives.
• Driving sales, production, clientacquisition and retention initiatives in line with growth targets.
• Developing and implementing strategies forthe Group Funeral business
• Ensuring compliance with applicablelegislation, including FSCA regulations, the Data Protection Act and Anti-MoneyLaundering requirements.
• Overseeing scheme profitability,membership, claims ratios, premium payments and operational efficiencies.
• Managing group insurance contracts,including negotiations, tenders, service level agreements and periodic contractreviews.
• Building and maintaining strongrelationships with employers, associations, administrators, brokers,consultants and other key stakeholders.
• Working with internal stakeholders,including Actuarial, to evaluate complex quotations and tenders.
• Managing client complaints and providingguidance on benefits, claims procedures and policy coverage.
• Overseeing the financial management andbudgeting of the Group Scheme Office.
• Preparing and presenting monthlymanagement reports covering production, trends, growth opportunities,challenges and strategic recommendations.
• Leading recruitment, performancemanagement and development of Group Scheme Consultants.
  

Requirements

• A tertiary qualification in Marketing,Sales and/or relevant FAIS credits.
• At least 5+ years’ knowledge and managementexperience in the Group Scheme Market or Employee Benefits Market, preferablyin a managerial or supervisory role.
• A valid Code 08 driver’s licence andwillingness to travel.
• In-depth knowledge of group insuranceproducts, regulations and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical, financial,communication, negotiation and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in relevant softwareapplications, including Microsoft Excel and insurance administration platforms.
