Job summary

Pick n Pay Retailers is seeking a diligent Shelf Packer – Groceries to ensure shelves are well stocked, correctly priced and neatly displayed in the supermarket. The role focuses on availability, proper rotation, clean and organized aisles, and delivering excellent customer service in line with store standards.

The position requires a Grade 12, basic understanding of stock handling, and the ability to lift cartons. Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification is a minimum requirement.
• Previous experience in shelf packing, grocery retail or merchandising will be an advantage.
• Basic understanding of stock rotation, expiry dates and product handling.
• Ability to read product labels, shelf labels and pricing information.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods, lift grocery cartons and move stock safely.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Pack and replenish grocery shelves, ensure correct pricing and display.
• Maintain product availability and rotate stock.
• Provide friendly customer service and assist with inquiries.
• Assist with stocktakes, promotions, displays and loading deliveries.
• Report stock losses, breakages and wastage and support other departments as needed.
