About the Role

Our client seeks a forward-thinking Grid Modernization Specialist to contribute to the evolution of energy infrastructure in Richards Bay . This role is central to enhancing the reliability, efficiency, and resilience of the power grid through the integration of advanced technologies. You will work on projects involving smart grid technologies, distributed energy resources, and advanced metering infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for smart grid deployment and grid modernization initiatives.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies, such as advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), SCADA systems, and demand response platforms.
• Analyze grid performance data to identify areas for improvement in reliability, efficiency, and operational cost.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory bodies on project planning and execution.
• Assess the impact of distributed energy resources (DERs) on grid stability and develop integration plans.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to grid modernization and cybersecurity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems engineering , grid operations, or smart grid technologies.
• Strong knowledge of grid modernization concepts, including AMI, DER integration, and grid automation.
