Placements24 in Richards Bay is sourcing a proactive Community Development Facilitator to partner with local communities, design and drive sustainable initiatives, and empower residents across KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead workshops, coordinate local projects, and build capacity to address economic empowerment, education, and social well-being.

The role focuses on participatory assessments, workshop facilitation, and strong collaboration with leaders and funders.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Community Development, Social Sciences, Rural Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in community development work, project management, or facilitation.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and managing development projects.
• Excellent facilitation, training, and group dynamics skills.
• Knowledge of the socio-economic context of Richards Bay and the broader KwaZulu-Natal region.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community needs assessments and participatory rural appraisal exercises.
• Design and implement community development projects focused on economic empowerment, skills development, and social upliftment.
• Facilitate training workshops for community members on development topics, including entrepreneurship and financial management.
• Mobilize community participation and ensure equitable benefit distribution from development initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with community leaders, local government, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, evaluate impact, and prepare regular reports for management and funders.
