Qualifications

• Recent graduate or up to one year of relevant experience.
• Basic understanding of estimating, cost control, budgeting, and project management principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a professional engineering and construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior estimators and cost control professionals in developing and implementing estimating and cost control strategies tailored to specific project and client requirements.
• Support the preparation of project cost estimates, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost reports.
• Help monitor project costs and identify cost variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in quantity take-offs and the measurement of materials, labour, and equipment requirements.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of cost databases and estimating records.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure project objectives are achieved within budget and schedule requirements.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, cost analyses, and project documentation.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance estimating, cost control, and project management knowledge and skills.
• Assist in the implementation of quality assurance processes and company safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating and project controls functions.
