Oakhurst Girls' Primary School in Cape Town is seeking a part-time Educator to join our vibrant team for Grades 6 and 7, aligning lessons with CAPS and preparing learners for high school. The role is 3 days per week, with responsibilities across planning, teaching, assessment and reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a recognised teaching qualification, SACE registration, and a commitment to physical education and co-curricular programmes.

Formación

• Recognised teaching qualification specialising in Intermediate and/or Senior Phase.
• Active SACE registration.
• No criminal record; Police Clearance and Child Protection Clearance required.
• Sound working knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.
• Proven experience teaching Grades 6 & 7 (advantageous).
• Knowledge of Physical Education requirements.
• Willingness to contribute to extra- and co-curricular programmes.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, prepare, and present Grades 6 and 7 learning programmes aligned with CAPS, ensuring learner readiness for high school.
• Maintain high standards in Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Technology.
• Teach and assess Foundation Phase Physical Education focusing on motor skills, spatial orientation, coordination, balance and locomotion.
• Demonstrate effective classroom management and organizational skills.
• Observe, assess, and report on academic, physical, social and emotional development; maintain accurate WCED records.
• Communicate constructively with parents/caregivers and collaborate with the Intermediate and Senior Phase team, Departmental Head, Head of Sport and Principal.
• Utilise technology for administrative/teaching purposes and participate in staff meetings and school activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and present Grades 6 and 7 learning programmes aligned with CAPS, ensuring learner readiness for high school.
