Curro Mossel Bay in Mossel Bay is seeking a Grade 3 Teacher (full-time) to commence duties in January 2027. The role focuses on foundation phase teaching in a Curro curriculum and coordinating a range of subjects.

The successful candidate will have a BEd and/or PGCE in foundation phase, with an honours degree advantageous, and at least 2 years of foundation phase experience. Knowledge of the IEB curriculum and strong communication skills are essential.

Curro is seeking to appoint a primary school foundation phase teacher at Curro Mossel Bay in Mossel Bay. The role involves teaching and coordinating a range of subjects as per the Curro curriculum for the foundation phase. The teacher is responsible for the active teaching, knowledge transfer, skills development and growth of positive attitudes among learners through integrated and focused teaching approaches.

Key performance areas

• Perform teaching duties, including planning lessons using modern-day tools and processes, setting up workbooks and measuring academic improvement and achievement
• Review, implement, monitor and adjust the term plan as necessary, including creating customised plans to support the class pace and available lessons as well as making provision for revision and parent and learning meetings
• Manage the classroom, including classroom design and set-up for optimal performance, disciplinary rules and communication with learners and parents
• Manage assessments, including assessment reviews, the assessment roster, revision packs, moderation and interventions
• Plan and manage homework per grade, including revisions and managing reading levels and progress
• Plan and manage extramural activities and outings

• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum
