Job summary

Michael Oak Waldorf School in Cape Town seeks a Full-time Waldorf Foundation Phase teacher to start January 2027. The ideal candidate holds a Waldorf B.Ed, is SACE registered, and enjoys teaching mixed-age groups with a strong artistic background.

Applicants should be caring, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and willing to be mentored within our close-knit Kindergarten Faculty. Preference given to those with Waldorf school experience.

Qualifications

• Foundation Phase Waldorf teaching qualification (B.Ed) is required.
• Current SACE registration is required.
• Willingness to teach in a mixed-age class.
• Must have a wide range of artistic skills: drawing, painting, clay, singing, instrument, rhythmic speech, drama.

Responsibilities

• Teach in a mixed-age class within a Waldorf setting.
• Contribute to the development of learners' artistic and personal growth.
• Collaborate with staff, learners and parents in a small community.

Full-time position to begin January 2027

The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Foundation Phase Waldorf teaching qualification (B.Ed)
• Current SACE registration
• Be prepared to teach in a mixed age class
• Have a wide range of artistic skills - drawing, painting, clay work, singing, playing an instrument, clear, rhythmic speech, drama.
• Caring and enthusiastic, with a love of and dedication to children and their development
• Self-motivated, but willing to be mentored by an experienced teacher
• Able to work well with our dynamic community of staff, learners and parents
• Willing to actively contribute to the collective management of the small, tight-knit Kindergarten Faculty

Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience teaching at a Waldorf school.
