Job summary

Curro Mossel Bay in Mossel Bay is seeking a Grade 3 Teacher (full-time) to commence duties in January 2027. The role focuses on foundation phase teaching in a Curro curriculum and coordinating a range of subjects.

The successful candidate will have a BEd and/or PGCE in foundation phase, with an honours degree advantageous, and at least 2 years of foundation phase experience. Knowledge of the IEB curriculum and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BEd and/or PGCE in foundation phase education, with an honours degree advantageous
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a foundation phase teacher
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate a range of foundation phase subjects per Curro curriculum
• Active teaching, knowledge transfer, skills development and positive attitudes among learners
• Plan lessons, set up workbooks and monitor academic progress
• Review and adjust term plans; prepare revision and parent meetings
• Manage classroom, assessments, and homework; organise extramural activities
