Hire Far Out in Stellenbosch is seeking a Global Head of IT to direct enterprise technology strategy, architecture, and delivery across international offices. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years of IT leadership are required.

Reporting to the US-based VP of IT, you will own ERP platforms, CTRM systems, and data analytics initiatives, uniting executive leadership with delivery teams to modernise and scale the tech stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline with 8+ years of IT solution delivery leadership.
• Executive-level strategic IT leadership experience managing complex SDLC and enterprise technology architecture.
• Proven track record in multi-currency budget management and managed services deployment.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic technology roadmap for ERP, trading systems, and data analytics platforms across international offices.
• Lead internal delivery teams and external MSPs to ensure high-performance application support and continuous optimisation.
• Rationalise, negotiate, and manage global vendor contracts and IT budgets across USD, GBP, and ZAR.
• Establish IT governance, security protocols, and regulatory compliance across operating regions.

Role Overview

A leading international commodity trading group is seeking a Global Head of IT to direct enterprise technology strategy, systems architecture, and solution delivery across its global operations.

Reporting directly to the US-based VP of Information Technology, you will take strategic ownership of core ERP platforms, commodity trading applications, and data analytics initiatives. In this high-visibility role, you will bridge executive leadership, international business units, and technical delivery teams to modernise and scale the enterprise tech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic technology roadmap for enterprise ERP, trading systems, and data analytics platforms across all international offices.
• Lead internal solution delivery teams and external managed service providers to ensure high-performance application support and continuous systems optimisation.
• Rationalise, negotiate, and manage global vendor contracts, multi-currency IT budgets, and service-level agreements.
• Establish IT governance, solution standards, security protocols, and regulatory compliance frameworks across all operating regions.
• Conduct business requirements analysis and translate complex operational needs into clear functional specifications for development teams.
• Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and solution architecture across global business initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline with 8+ years of experience leading IT solution delivery teams.
• Executive-level strategic IT leadership experience managing complex software development lifecycles (SDLC) and enterprise technology architecture.
• Proven track record in vendor contract rationalisation, multi-currency budget management (USD, GBP, ZAR), and managed services deployment.
• Practical exposure to enterprise ERP platforms, CTRM systems, or data and analytics tools.
• Industry experience within commodity trading, financial services, or international logistics environments.
• Flexibility for global time zone alignment and up to 15% international travel.
