Job summary

Watchmaker Genomics is seeking an IT Enterprise Solutions Engineer - ERP to own the full lifecycle of the Epicor Kinetic ERP platform and related applications. The role bridges IT and business units, driving scalable ERP solutions across our global footprint including SA and the US.

You will lead architecture, integrations, master data governance, and regulatory compliance while coordinating rollouts, hypercare, and project delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of ERP implementation, administration and support experience.
• Experience with Epicor Kinetic suite (DMT, BAQs, Dashboards, Application Studio, BPMs, Epicor Functions, SSRS, BarTender).
• Knowledge of SQL Server administration and REST/OData integrations.
• Experience in ISO 13485 / GMP / CSV regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting multi-site, multi-company ERP with intercompany transactions and multi-currency processing.
• Strong understanding of Finance, Supply Chain, MES/Manufacturing and HR processes.

Responsibilities

• Own ERP architecture, platform operations and lifecycle for Epicor Kinetic estate (LIVE/TEST/DEV).
• Design, implement and maintain internal/external system integrations (MES, CRM, Banking, Tax, Concur).
• Manage governance, security, and master data; ensure SoD reviews and data integrity.
• Lead rollouts, hypercare, and project delivery with RAID logs and cutover plans.

A global life sciences company with R&D and production facilities is looking for a IT Enterprise Solutions Engineer - ERP to join their team in Cape Town, South Africa, and headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.

Role Overview

IT Enterprise Solutions Engineer - ERP to own the full lifecycle of its Epicor Kinetic ERP platform and integrated application estate. Reporting to the Director of Global IT, the successful candidate acts as the bridge between IT and various business units, translating strategic needs into scalable technology solutions.

The engineer leads the implementation, stabilization, optimization, and expansion of ERP, MES, and related systems across the company's global footprint. This includes driving phased rollouts (modules, integrations, sites, and entities), managing daily platform operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting cross-time-zone operations between South Africa and the US.

1. ERP Architecture & Platform Operations

• Administers the Epicor Kinetic estate (LIVE, TEST, DEV), including environment refreshes, backups, baseline-aligned version upgrades, and patch management.
• Oversees system architecture design, technology stack alignment, infrastructure scaling, and database health (SQL Server monitoring, recovery models, and system agent checks).
• Maintains deployment registers for customizations, Application Studio setups, BPM directives, Epicor Functions, and configuration changes.

2. Integration Design & Operations

• Designs, implements, and maintains internal and external system integrations (MES, CRM, Banking/FNB/JP Morgan, Tax/Avalara, Shipping/QuickShip, Concur).
• Utilizes middleware, REST, and OData APIs to establish workflows, data mapping, and retry/replay procedures for failed interface messages.
• Manages credentials, endpoints, certificate renewals, and cross-system data reconciliation reports.

3. Governance, Security & Master Data

• Administers user provisioning, role-based security, field-level security, and periodic segregation of duties (SoD) reviews.
• Executes controlled data loads/corrections using DMT and enforces master data governance to maintain the ERP as the single source of truth.
• Oversees the reporting catalog, BAQs, SSRS reports, and label printing infrastructure (BarTender).

4. Rollouts, Hypercare & Project Delivery

• Leads technical project plans, RAID logs, and command-center operations for new module and site rollouts.
• Manages cutover playbooks, dress rehearsals, go/no-go gates, and same-day back-entry controls for offline operations.
• Provides severity-based incident triage, resolves implementation escalations, and manages vendor/partner relationships.

5. Process Control & Regulated Compliance

• Maintains CSV (Computer System Validation) evidence, change control records, and lot mask integrity in line with ISO 13485 / GMP requirements.
• Safeguards financial posting integrity, traceability, label accuracy, and Certificate of Analysis (CofA) outputs.
• Establishes offline operating procedures and conducts periodic process-health reviews with super-users to prevent process drift.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related tertiary field.
• Experience: 7+ years of hands-on ERP implementation, administration, and support experience.
• Core ERP Expertise: Proven technical depth with Epicor Kinetic (DMT, BAQs, Dashboards, Application Studio, BPMs, Epicor Functions, SSRS, BarTender).
• Technical Stack: Proficiency in SQL Server administration, REST/OData API integration troubleshooting, and data transformation tools.
• Regulated Environments: Direct experience in ISO 13485, GMP, or CSV-governed manufacturing operations.
• Global Operations: Experience supporting multi-site, multi-company ERP environments with intercompany transactions and multi-currency processing.
• Business Literacy: Strong foundation in core business processes (Finance posting rules, Supply Chain, MES/Manufacturing, and HR).
