Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage end-to-end freight forwarding from our Benoni hub in Gauteng. You will handle documentation, bookings, and coordination with carriers, clients, and customs authorities to ensure smooth transit and high service levels.

The role emphasizes proactive problem-solving, strong communication, and collaboration with warehouse and port teams to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain experience.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, Incoterms and customs rules.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with multitasking.
• Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with Benoni, Gauteng area advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end freight forwarding for import and export.
• Prepare bills of lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
• Book cargo space with lines and service providers; arrange transport.
• Track shipments and provide clients with status updates.
• Resolve disruptions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage client relationships and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Collaborate with warehouse and port teams for efficient handling.
• Generate reports on volumes, costs, and performance metrics.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of logistics processes.
