Job summary

Sporty Group in Cape Town is seeking a Finance Controller / Internal Auditor to strengthen financial processes and controls across a fast-growing, international group. Reporting to the Global Finance Director, you design, implement and monitor controls across payments, banking, reconciliations, accounting, record keeping, procurement and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• CA (SA) with 3-5 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience in financial control, audit, accounting or a similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, processes, reconciliations, payments, banking and financial reporting.
• Experience designing and implementing financial controls and operational processes.
• Comfortable working across multiple legal entities, countries and finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and strengthen financial processes and controls across the group.
• Design, document and implement practical financial controls across payments, banking, reconciliations, accounting, record keeping, procurement and reporting.
• Establish segregation of duties, approval processes, access controls and supporting documentation.
• Perform ongoing internal reviews to confirm controls are operating effectively.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and other key accounting processes for accuracy.
• Collaborate with Finance teams to resolve control deficiencies and improve processes.
• Develop policies, procedures and control documentation for consistent group-wide use.
• Support implementation of new systems and banking arrangements with built-in controls.
• Use technology and automation to strengthen controls and reduce manual work.
• Track issues and actions through to remediation and support external audits.
