Boardroom Appointments seeks a Legal Advisor to provide comprehensive legal support across the Group, ensuring compliance, minimising risk, and enabling business operations with sound legal advice. The role covers commercial contracts, corporate governance, insurance, dispute resolution, trademarks and cross-border regulatory matters.

Ideal candidates hold an LLB and be Admitted Attorneys in South Africa, with 5-7 years post-admission in corporate legal environments or law firms, and experience

Formación

• LLB degree from a recognised university.
• Admitted Attorney in South Africa (essential).
• Minimum 5-7 years post-admission experience in a corporate legal environment or law firm.
• Strong background in commercial and contract law, with exposure to cross-border transactions and insurance matters.
• Experience with company secretarial duties and familiarity with CIPC and Company House filings.
• Solid understanding of dispute resolution, litigation coordination, and IP management.

Responsabilidades

• Contract Management & Legal Drafting: Maintain, update, and manage legal templates and draft, review, and negotiate vendor and customer contracts.
• Lease Management (Group-wide): Review group lease agreements, monitor renewal timelines and negotiate terms.
• Insurance Oversight (Group): Oversee Marine and Non-Mmarine insurance, coordinate renewals, advise on GIT premiums, support subsidiaries.
• Company Secretarial Functions: Draft and file resolutions, maintain registers, coordinate Annual Returns, manage debt collections and liaise with external partners, oversee litigation.
• Strategic Legal Projects: Lead regulatory initiatives, risk mitigation programs, commercial contract frameworks, and cross-functional compliance.
• General Legal & Compliance: Facilitate bank account openings, ensure FICA compliance, review and enhance compliance SOPs.
