Job summary

Maersk is seeking an experienced operations leader in South Africa (Midrand) to drive profit and loss for the site, manage existing and new customers, and implement the Contract Logistics strategy. The role emphasizes cost optimization, asset utilization, and growth through effective tendering and business development.

You will lead a cross-functional team, develop people, and ensure HSSE compliance while expanding the site footprint in line with corporate governance and customer needs.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years experience in supply chain roles
• Experience with Contract Logistics and warehouse design
• People development and mentoring
• Strong customer-facing and collaboration in a matrix organization

Responsibilities

• Profit and Loss: P&L responsible for all site
• New and existing customer management
• Site performance (cost / utilization)
• Continuous improvement and optimization of assets
• Investment proposals and follow-up on the same
• Product: Execution of Contract Logistics strategy for site in alignment with Cluster Manager
• Business development aligned with strategy
• Develop new customers by liaising with area sales
• Site implementation
• Growth targets
• Tender handling support to area Contract Logistics
• Expand business footprint while ensuring profitable growth
• Customization and localization of the products within the framework
• Operational Excellence
• Manage the operations of the location
• HSSE and compliance adherence
• Manage sub-contractors needs and used at this location for Contract Logistics services
• Drive compliance & regulatory adherence
