Job summary

Maersk Contract Logistics in Cape Town seeks an Industrial Engineer to advance process improvements across warehousing, distribution and cold storage within the Southern Africa area. You will apply lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize space, flow and costs while partnering with site teams and cross-functional units.

The role requires 3–5 years in logistics, WMS experience, strong data analysis and change-management skills, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
• Basic Lean principles or Six Sigma knowledge
• Basic warehousing processes knowledge (3PL experience advantageous)
• Process improvement & Project Management skills
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
• Strong collaboration, communication and change management skills
• Self-starter, fast-learner, able to work with minimal supervision
• Strong data analysis and MS Office skills
• Strong English speaking and writing skills

Responsibilities

• Research and implement contract logistics best practices across multiple sites in South Africa
• Develop best-in-class contract logistics processes and standards in the SA area (warehousing, distribution, cold storage)
• Apply lean principles and Six Sigma to drive space utilization, product flow and cost savings
• Implement and drive global Maersk standards within Contract Logistics operations
• Train warehouse teams on Lean and Six Sigma to foster continuous improvement
• Support with KPI tracking and site maturity assessments
• Assist with implementation of innovative technologies within operations
• Support change management during continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to safety culture and liaison with Maersk Health & Safety teams
• Drive closure of audit findings across sites
