Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Contract Logistics Industrial Engineer to support the Southern Africa & Islands area, reporting to the Area head of Operational Excellence. The role focuses on applying lean principles and six sigma to improve space utilization, product flow, and processes across multiple SA sites within Contract Logistics.

The candidate will drive standardization of processes, train warehouse teams on lean and six-sigma methodologies, and collaborate to implement innovative technologies

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
• Basic Lean principles or Six Sigma knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of physical logistics and warehousing processes (3PL experience advantageous).
• Process improvement and project management skills.
• Experience developing SOPs or SWIs.
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Experience developing layouts.

Responsibilities

• Research and implement contract logistics best practices across multiple sites in SA.
• Develop best-in-class contract logistics processes and standards in warehousing, distribution, and cold storage.
• Apply lean and six-sigma to improve space utilization, product flow, and processes during implementation and operations.
• Implement and drive Maersk standards within Contract Logistics operations.
• Train warehouse teams on lean principles and six-sigma to foster continuous improvement.
