Sasol Durban is seeking a Manager Chartering and Operations to lead chartering, shipping and operational activities for crude oil, products and feedstocks, ensuring compliance and optimal commercial outcomes. You will develop shipping game plans, supervise trading operations and manage contracts with service providers.

The role requires a strong background in chartering, logistics and risk management, with 9+ years in a similar role and 3–5 years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant B-degree (International Logistics, Maritime Business or related field) or equivalent qualification.
• Membership of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers would be advantageous.
• 9 years’ experience in a similar role in chartering operations, preferably in crude oil or components or petroleum products trading environment.
• 3–5 years’ managerial experience.
• Experience with CTRM (Commodity Trading and Risk Management) systems would be advantageous.
• Experience in chartering, operations and logistic flows of tankers (oil & product tankers preferred).
• Knowledge of Incoterms and UCP600 governing documentary credits.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement chartering game plans and shipping policies.
• Negotiate and manage vessel charters and inspect operating parameters.
• Coordinate chartering, trading and shipping operations to optimise costs.
• Monitor regulatory compliance across geographical regions.
• Manage relationships with ship owners, service providers and Sasol units.
• Provide chartering reporting and analysis for performance tracking.
