Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Geotechnical Engineer to join our Rustenburg team. You will deliver expert geotechnical services for mining operations and civil construction, assess ground conditions, design foundations, perform slope stability analyses, and manage geotechnical risk.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree with geotechnical specialization, at least five years of geo-investigation experience, and proficiency in geotechnical software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical specialization.
• Minimum 5 years of geotechnical investigations and design experience.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software and data analysis tools.
• Experience with mining-related geotechnical challenges is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations, including soil sampling, testing, and analysis for mining and construction projects.
• Perform geotechnical analyses for foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks.
• Develop geotechnical design reports, recommendations, and mitigation strategies.
• Oversee drilling and site investigation programs, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, and construction teams to address geotechnical challenges.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations relevant to geotechnical engineering practices.
