Placements24 in Rustenburg, North West, seeks a skilled Structural Civil Engineer with strong geotechnical focus to evaluate foundations, earthworks and retaining structures for commercial, industrial and mining projects.

You will lead site investigations, analyze soil conditions, prepare specs and drawings, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliance with codes, standards and site safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical or structural emphasis.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in structural and geotechnical engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in foundation design, slope stability analysis, and earthworks design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS) and geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GEO5).
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D for drafting and design.

Responsabilités

• Perform structural analysis and design for foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other geotechnical-related structures.
• Conduct thorough geotechnical investigations, including site assessments, soil testing, and data interpretation.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Collaborate with geotechnical specialists, structural engineers, and project managers to develop integrated design solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, engineering standards, and safety regulations.
• Oversee and conduct site inspections during construction to verify compliance with design specifications.
• Utilize advanced modeling and simulation software for structural and geotechnical analysis.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site teams and contractors.
• Contribute to the development of tender documents and project proposals.
