About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Geotechnical Engineer to join their established team in Centurion, Gauteng . You will play a critical role in assessing ground conditions and providing essential design recommendations for a wide range of construction projects, ensuring structural integrity and safety. This position requires a deep understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering, contributing to the successful execution of challenging builds. You will collaborate with structural engineers, architects, and construction teams, providing vital input from the early stages of project development through to final construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations, including drilling, testing, and sampling of soil and rock.
• Analyze geotechnical data to determine soil properties and bearing capacities.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, and other earth-supporting structures.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation reports with clear design recommendations.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing any geotechnical issues that arise.
• Liaise with clients and project teams to ensure geotechnical requirements are met.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in geotechnical investigations and design.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio, or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
