Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support significant energy projects in the Kimberley area. This role is critical for assessing ground conditions, providing foundation designs, and ensuring the stability and safety of infrastructure such as substations, wind turbine foundations, and solar farm installations. You will conduct site investigations, analyze soil and rock mechanics, and develop comprehensive geotechnical reports. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and construction teams to mitigate subsurface risks and ensure project success, contributing to the reliable development of energy infrastructure in the Northern Cape, within a company that prioritizes technical excellence and site safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations , including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Analyze soil and rock properties, groundwater conditions, and seismic hazards.
• Design foundations for various energy infrastructure, including shallow and deep foundations.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical investigation reports, including recommendations for design and construction.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing any subsurface challenges that arise.
• Ensure all geotechnical aspects comply with relevant engineering codes, standards, and project requirements .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with specific experience on energy infrastructure projects .
