Placements24 is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support mining operations in Klerksdorp with a focus on stability of underground openings, pits, and slopes. The role combines on-site collaboration with remote analysis and reporting to suit North West's dynamic mining environment.

The candidate will conduct investigations, analyze data, and provide recommendations ensuring safety and efficiency of mining activities.

Qualifications

Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mining Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, specifically within the mining sector.
Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and slope stability analysis.
Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., FLAC, Rocscience suite).
Experience with instrumentation and monitoring techniques.
Excellent report writing and communication skills, suitable for a hybrid work environment.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to provide critical support to their operations in Klerksdorp . This role focuses on assessing and managing the stability of underground and surface mine excavations, slopes, and tailings facilities. You will conduct investigations, perform analyses, and provide recommendations to ensure the safety and efficiency of mining activities. This hybrid position allows for collaboration with on-site teams while also offering flexibility for remote analysis and reporting, crucial for success in the dynamic mining industry of North West .
