Placements24 is seeking a specialist Civil Engineer with geotechnical expertise to join the Pretoria team. You will assess soil conditions, design foundations, slope stabilization, and earth retaining structures for diverse projects in a hybrid work setup.

The role requires a deep understanding of soil mechanics, site investigation techniques, and experience of 6+ years in geotechnical investigations and design. Proficiency with GeoStudio/PLAXIS is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical specialization.
• Minimum 6 years of geotechnical investigations and design experience.
• Proficiency with GeoStudio, PLAXIS or similar geotechnical software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical site investigations including drilling, sampling and in-situ testing.
• Analyze soil and rock properties to determine bearing capacity, settlements and stability.
• Design shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls and slope protection systems.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports with design and construction recommendations.
• Oversee and interpret results from geotechnical laboratory testing.
• Provide technical consultation to project teams and clients on geotechnical matters.
