Job summary

Placements24 seeks a senior Geophysicist to lead seismic interpretation and subsurface imaging initiatives in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will synthesize seismic data with wells and core information to guide exploration decisions and optimize prospectivity.

You will apply advanced attribute analysis and inversion techniques, communicating complex results to multidisciplinary teams and management. A PhD or MSc in geophysics is preferred for this highly technical role.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Geophysics, Physics or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of seismic data interpretation experience in Oil & Gas.
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom, HampsonRussell).
• Strong understanding of seismic data processing workflows and principles.
• Experience with 2D, 3D and time-lapse (4D) seismic data.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to handle large datasets.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for cross-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team in Stellenbosch.
• Experience with quantitative seismic interpretation and AVO analysis desirable.
