Job summary

Placements24 in Mossel Bay is seeking a Geophysical Surveyor to drive mineral exploration projects. You will acquire, process, and interpret geophysical data across seismic, magnetic, gravity, and EM methods, with field-heavy duties and office-based analysis.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on surveying, a geophysics-related degree, and proficiency in Oasis Montaj/Geosoft. Travel to remote sites and a hybrid work model are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or related field
• 5+ years of geophysical surveying experience
• Proficiency with Oasis Montaj, Geosoft
• Willingness to travel to remote field locations and adapt to hybrid work schedules
• Experience with seismic, magnetic, gravity, and electromagnetic methods

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geophysical surveys, including seismic, magnetic, gravity, and electromagnetic methods
• Operate and maintain geophysical equipment in various field conditions
• Process and interpret raw geophysical data to generate anomaly maps and cross-sections
• Integrate geophysical data with geological and geochemical information for target definition
• Prepare detailed geophysical reports, including methodology, results, and interpretations
• Collaborate with geologists and other exploration team members to refine exploration strategies
