Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking a detail‑oriented Geophysical Data Analyst to join our team in a hybrid role. You will process, analyze, and interpret seismic and related geophysical data to unlock subsurface insights for exploration and development decisions.

Working with geologists and reservoir engineers, you will map subsurface structures, assess hydrocarbon potential, and apply advanced software such as OpendTect, GeoGraphix, and IHS Markit tools to deliver actionable results.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Physics, or related field.
3+ years of experience in processing and interpreting geophysical data, preferably in oil and gas.
Proficiency with seismic data processing workflows and interpretation techniques.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high accuracy.
Ability to work collaboratively in an in-office and remote Port Elizabeth setting.

Responsibilities

Process and quality control raw seismic data from acquisition methods.
Perform data analysis including attribute analysis, inversion, and impedance modeling.
Generate maps, cross-sections, and visualizations of subsurface geology.
Integrate geophysical interpretations with geological and reservoir data.
Identify and evaluate exploration targets; prepare summaries and reports.
