Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Geophysical Data Analyst to join a remote exploration team. The role focuses on interpreting seismic and geophysical data to identify prospects and support exploration strategies in the Eastern Cape region and beyond.

You will process data, apply advanced software, and visualize results to inform geological assessments while working independently and with a remote team across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in geophysical data processing and interpretation, preferably in oil & gas.
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom Suite, GeoDepth).

Responsibilities

• Process and interpret seismic, magnetic, and gravity data to delineate subsurface structures and identify potential prospects.
• Perform data quality control and assurance to ensure accuracy of geophysical interpretations.
• Utilize interpretation software to generate maps, cross-sections, and 3D visualizations of geological formations.
• Collaborate remotely with geologists and reservoir engineers to integrate geophysical findings into prospect evaluations.
• Contribute to development and refinement of exploration models and play fairway mapping.
• Stay updated on the latest geophysical technologies and interpretation methodologies.
