Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Geophysical Data Analyst to join their Stellenbosch team. You will process, analyze, and interpret seismic and other geophysical data to delineate subsurface structures and assist in exploration planning.

The role requires 5+ years in geophysical data processing, proficiency with standard software, and strong analytical skills. Office-based in Stellenbosch with collaboration across geology and reservoir teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of geophysical data processing and interpretation experience, preferably within oil & gas.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software packages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process, analyze, and interpret geophysical data, primarily seismic, to delineate subsurface structures.

About the Role

Our client, a leading entity in the energy exploration sector, is seeking a meticulous and skilled Geophysical Data Analyst to join their talented team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role is fundamental to the interpretation and processing of vast amounts of geophysical data, including seismic, gravity, and magnetic surveys, to identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs and geological structures. You will be instrumental in enhancing our understanding of subsurface formations, contributing directly to exploration success. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in data processing and interpretation software, coupled with a keen analytical mind and a passion for unraveling Earth's complexities. This is an office-based role in our vibrant Stellenbosch hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, analyze, and interpret geophysical data, primarily seismic, to delineate subsurface structures and stratigraphy.
• Utilize advanced software tools (e.g., Petrel, OpendTect, Kingdom Suite) for data visualization and interpretation.
• Perform data quality control and assurance to ensure the accuracy and reliability of results.

Requirements

• Experience with 2D and 3D seismic data analysis.
