Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Generator Maintenance Technician to join their East London team. You will maintain diesel and gas generators for commercial and industrial clients, performing routine checks and repairs to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, fault diagnosis, and the ability to read schematics, with travel within the Eastern Cape and a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience as Generator Maintenance Technician or similar mechanical/electrical field.
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines and electrical systems.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Valid driver''s license and willingness to travel within Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on generators.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Conduct load bank testing and system diagnostics.
• Respond to emergency service requests for generators.
• Maintain service records and safety compliance.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
