Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Generator Maintenance Technician to join their team serving the East London, Eastern Cape area. This role is vital for ensuring the reliable operation of backup power generation systems for commercial and industrial clients. You will be responsible for the routine maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel and gas generators. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical expertise, particularly with power generation equipment, and is committed to providing preventative solutions and rapid response to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks on generators.


• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in various generator models.


• Conduct load bank testing and system diagnostics to ensure optimal performance and readiness.


• Respond to emergency calls to service and repair malfunctioning generators promptly.


• Maintain accurate service records, including maintenance performed, parts used, and test results.


• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards related to generator maintenance and fuel handling in East London.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Generator Maintenance Technician or in a closely related mechanical/electrical field.
