Job summary

Magnum Ice Cream Company is hiring a General Operator for a fixed-term role in the Straight Line, Tubline, Process Plant, Palletizing and Lollies areas. The role focuses on manual feeding, packing, and palletizing with strict adherence to SOPs and SHE rules.

The position requires Matric with Maths & Physical Science or N3 in Engineering Studies, and a hands-on approach to maintain quality and safety on the production line. You will join a fast-paced team delivering ice cream products.

Qualifications

• Matric with Maths and Physical Science or N3 (Engineering Studies) as minimum.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out manual feeding/loading of materials and packing into boxes.
• Load/unload boxes for raw or finished products and palletising tasks.
• Perform repetitive manual tasks in plant as per SOPs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe condition of area and equipment.
• Record handover activities and shift events (cases packed, rejects).
• Work in a team, assist others with manual tasks as needed.
• adhere to SHE rules and report potential hazards.
• Conduct visual quality checks and report deviations.

MainPurposeofJob:To performpredominantly manual tasksin the plant, related to manual feeding/loading of materials,packing of product into boxes,loading or unloading of boxes for raw or finished products, manualpalletizing, de-palletizingand fetching and returning of materials from/to pre-defined storage locations.

Key Responsibilities

Process / Operation

Start-Up/Shutdown procedures

• Carries out pre-start-up checks to ensure that the area and equipment is clean and is in a safe condition as per the SOP.Shuttingdown equipment and the area as per the SOP.

Material Availability

• Provides a continuous supply ofappropriate packagingmaterial from line-side storage areas to demarcated storage areas as per existingUMS5S standards.

Operation

• Manually packs product to existing packing standards (incorporating date coding,appropriate corrugateand sealing and pallet configurations). Carries out cleaning and general operations to existing standards.

Problem Solving and Decision Making

• All work is carried out according toexistingstandards and procedures.

Administration

• Records hand-over activities and events that have occurred during shift (cases packed/rejects)

Leadership and Relationships

• Works in a team environment andassistsother team members with manual tasks.

SHE

• Adheres to Company emergency procedures, safety rules and regulations and reports potential SHE hazards in work area.

Quality

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Matric (with Maths & Physical Science) OR N3 (Engineering Studies)
